Art On Wheels

The art of taking the (art) business to the client

Beauty is most definitely in the eye of the beholder, but being able to make the connection between the gorgeous painting you see in a gallery and the space that you have for it at home can be tricky. The answer to this problem is to not visit the gallery, but rather to get the gallery to visit you!

Leon Kotze created the Art on Wheels concept as a way of helping people to find the right artworks for the home or office. He simply takes the paintings – around 60 at a time – to the client, after finding out via the phone what their requirements are. This enables him to ensure that the meeting is productive, as the client is able to view the art in context and immediately see what works, right down to style, size and type of frame.

Leon says that idea is to remove the daunting feel of a conventional gallery, while ensuring that the client can see exactly what will work within their environment. He says he thinks out of the box (or should that be outside the frame?) when it comes to art, and hopes to attract like-minded people in order to expand the business.

To achieve this, Leon needs a web design whizz kid to improve his existing website design. He  is also looking for creative homemakers who want to indulge themselves in interior design and make money while doing it, to become design facilitators interfacing with his clients.
