Coffeebeans Routes

Taking tourists to the cultural heart of Africa.

Coffeebeans Routes, based in Wale St in Cape Town, was founded by Iain Harris in 2005 and is a niche tour operator that aims to give tourists a meaningful and broad taste of African city life.

Unlike most tour operators, which focus on safaris and coastal resorts, Coffeebeans Routes explores more urban-oriented travel packages, including festivals and cultural activities. The idea is for the visitors to meet creative local people in their homes for meals and attend performances.

Harris says that African cities are rich in innovation and culture, although they tend to only be known for the negatives. His company aims to change these perceptions, by giving travellers the opportunity to meet people and engage with African ideas, expressions and lives. Africa has an abundance of musicians, artists, innovators and visionaries, and many visitors would love nothing more than to connect with these thinkers.

However, in order to deliver these experiences, Coffeebeans Routes requires help with advertising, as well as with an additional vehicle. Harris says the company is now doing more exclusive and private groups which require something more suitable transport-wise.

He would also like assistance in obtaining introductions to local corporations, as his company offers numerous products that are perfect for big business, as well as introductions to international travel agencies that may be interested in the company’s packages.
