EasyClip

Don’t screw up your deck – use EasyClip hidden deck fasteners instead

With a long family history in the timber and decking business, Stephan Jooste’s company, Pretoria Timber Treaters, sought a better means of fastening decking than the traditional screw method. Since he adheres to the old adage that “‘n boer maak ‘n plan”, Stephan looked into the hidden fastener concept, obtaining samples from around the globe. He then utilised the best concepts of each of these, threw in a dash of typical South African ingenuity, and EasyClip was born.

These polypropylene clips will totally change the way that wooden decks are built, as they fit between deck boards and hold them down without the need for unsafe and ugly screws. This means customers have a beautiful clean deck that is easy to maintain and cost effective to build, with no screwing around!

The timber industry is in our blood, Stephan says, so we know what contractors and architects need. The answer is easy – EasyClip. Clearly, his customers realise this too, since he has sold more than four million EasyClip fasteners since the company started five years ago.

The next step is to market the product globally, so assistance is required with branding, advertising, marketing and developing an international quality website, as well as from graphic designers to create packaging and in-store promotional material.
