Flybrother SA
Flybrother SA offers unique products at reasonable prices
Success from adversity could be Sandile Zwane’s motto. A qualified aeronautical engineering  graduate who has been working in the telecommunications industry for a number of years, he is also the founder of Flybrother SA Mobility, a supplier of green mobility solutions.
The company provides a variety of battery-propelled products, including electric wheelchairs. It is also registered with the Board of Health Funders (BHF), enabling Flybrother to provide mobility products to members of medical aid schemes for payment processing.
Sandile, who is 35, entered this sector quite by chance. He discovered the market niche while helping a close family member who was in desperate need of a wheelchair that he could afford. Sandile managed to track down an inexpensive model which he imported, and – realising that doing this in bulk could be of enormous value to others in a similar position – he formed Flybrother.
The company’s goal is to make a difference in the lives of those people who need such items, but would otherwise be unable to afford them. To this end, Flybrother works closely with the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, and Sandile has made a point of giving back to the community, thanks to donations such as the occasion which saw him give away a wheelchair live on air with 702’s David O’Sullivan.
