Johnson Mobile Vending Solutions: Pedaling The Way To Job Creation
Based in Edenvale, Gauteng, Johnson Mobile Vending Solutions is the brainchild of Kim Johnson and has created a whopping 4Â 800 jobs over the past 12 years!
The company has been able to play its part in employment creation because Johnson Mobile Vending Solutions manufactures vending units in bicycle, tricycle or pushcart format.
Listeners will probably already be familiar with Kim Johnson’s vending pushcarts and bikes because his company has worked with well-established brands including, Nestle, King Pie and Coca-Cola as well as with several municipalities on promotional campaigns that used the versatile units. Small entrepreneurs find the products especially appealing because they require a low start-up investment and a once-off purchase cost, while providing an excellent branding opportunity.
The fact that these carts require pedal power is probably another advantage in a nation rapidly expanding at the belt – never mind the ‘green’ advantage!
Because there is no limit to the kind of pedal-powered unit that Johnson can assemble, Kim feels there is a tremendous opportunity to grow the business both locally and overseas. To get there, however, he needs to make contact with social entrepreneurs to create micro-franchise solutions for urban and peri-urban areas. He also needs help to make the company website more enticing.
