M2North

M2North is on the road to Utopia

While we may not have achieved the paperless office just yet, businesses large and small are seeking ways to reduce paper document transactions. Ivan Jenkins’ company, M2North, provides middleware that handles the entire procure-to-pay or order-to-cash process electronically, and does so without any of the delays experienced by its namesake during rush hour!

M2North’s middleware allows 2 parties working with each other but using different ‘languages’ such as ORACLE or SAPS to communicate. It converts all the different codes, product descriptions and pricing into each party’s language of choice.

Ivan says that M2North is an extension of the larger ERP systems, helping them link to all their trading partners at minimal cost and support to the customer.

With massive customers like De Beers, Impala Platinum, Engen, Mittal Steel, Plascon, Macsteel and Electrolux using the M2North switch to communicate with their trading partners, the company already looks after some 14 000 trading partners across the country.

Ivan points out that the most satisfying thing for him is seeing the impact his little business has on clients. Whether it is saving the large corporations huge sums of money or making the smaller suppliers an electronic equal to the large enterprises.

However, as successful as M2North is, he still requires assistance with additional exposure, marketing and a promotional strategy that will resonate with operations and financial directors, in order to sell them the benefits in their own language.
