Neledzi Cleaning Services (Pty) Ltd
Patrick Makhubela was working in a joint venture BEE cleaning company when he decided that he wanted to put those years of experience to good use and be in control of his own destiny. He started small and, as he describes it “I wasn’t choosy and I did not focus on just tenders”. He started on friends’ houses, odd jobs, knocking on the doors of people he knew in the corporate world. This strategy, together with his belief that hard work and only hard work can yield results in the end, is bearing fruit.
Neledzi now offers commercial and industrial cleaning services, as well as specialised cleaning and related services like hygiene services, pest control, garden services, pre-occupational cleaning, deep cleaning and spring cleaning.
What insights can he share with other business owners? He says: “Enhance your skills; expand your knowledge to improve your business. Improve controls, efficiencies and business processes.”
He believes that entrepreneurs need to underpay themselves and reinvest every cent back into the business until such time that the business can afford to pay them better. He adds: “Stay focused on your dreams and keep positive friends who have your best interests at heart.”
Patrick’s ambition is for Neledzi to be a national player and to double in size in the next 5 years.
