Brought in by the existing management team to refine and focus the business strategy of this early stage venture. Thereafter, as part of the management team, we developed and implemented the acquisition and funding of 9 strategic businesses. After integrating the businesses into the overriding strategy of Primeserv, we prepared and implemented the promotional strategy to list the business on the JSE Main Board, raising R2bn during the public and private subscription.

Brought in by the majority shareholder, we worked with management to develop and implement a turnaround strategy for the ailing entity. The non-core administrative and operational back-office components were restructured and the resultant information was used to support the selection of one of three new market positions for the business. As a result, operating costs fell by more than 50% and sales growth escalated by over 20% in the first year. As a result, monthly losses of R305k were converted to monthly profits of R800k within 2 years.

Brought in by the lead entrepreneur, we developed the research briefs to position the business within the emerging market segment and to locate facilities within inner city environments. The resultant information was used to develop the Smart Gym brand, including its technology platform, website and mobile strategy. Products and services were designed to match the defined customer segment. Aurik provides shared services support to Smart Gym through an automated debit order and billing platform and a fully-outsourced payroll service. Further, Aurik brought on 3 unique revenue generating revenue deals to accelerate cashflow to support expansion plans.

Brought in by the lead entrepreneur, we assisted to develop and implement the acquisition strategy of what was then a small IT operation. In performing this function, we assisted management to identify emerging gaps in the market and developed a supportive acquisition strategy. Aurik established back-office systems to support the absorption of the acquired entities and positioned the business. ISA listed on the Main Board of the JSE without support, within a period of 12 months.

Brought in by the technology entrepreneurs of what was originally an application development house, we re-orientated the business from a B2C to a B2B services provider. All back-office systems were managed through the Aurik Shared Service Centre. Through this process, we developed the specs for an automated billing, administration and client services platform. Working with the sales team, we redesigned staff incentive packages and sales to support the acquisition of a corporate client base. Finally, through our value-added services Aurik identified a catalytic deal to generate the cashflow necessary to fund further acquisition activity and technical development on the technology platform.

Brought in by the owner we assisted in developing a new vision to reposition the business which had not generated sales for over 12 months. Aurik was engaged to establish and implement a turnaround strategy to migrate the business into international markets. The new positioning saw a number of relationships buy into vision and through this the business raised new capital to support and implement its new go-to-market strategy. Today, it currently supplies services to consumers in over 6 countries.

We were brought in by the owner to develop a strategy and support the implementation of a strategy to migrate the business away from time-based revenues towards annuity based revenues. After taking on the back-office operations, we used the information to work with the owner to re-strategise the business, redevelop the business model and implement both. Today the business operates an educational franchise with annuity revenues.
