Pele Green Energy provides sustainability and project development advisory services in the renewable energy sector.
These five young entrepreneurs (Gqi Raoleka, Thapelo Motlegeloa, Obakeng Moloabi, Boipelo Moloabi and Fumani Mthembi) are focused on more than profits. They are very aware of the persistence of poverty and inequality in South Africa, and this realisation drove them out of the comfort of corporate employment to the pursuit of a sustainable and inclusive model of wealth generation, with energy as the conduit to this end.
As sustainability advisors, the company designs ways for commercial and residential entities to become more energy efficient through technologies that provide stable and secure energy supply and reduce consumption. They help clients set and surpass ‘green’ targets and access available financial incentives.
Pele Green Energy also acts as project development advisors, developing projects that create new generation capacity. They work closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure that projects are financially feasible and sustainable.
These business owners balance idealism with pragmatism, and a belief in the endurance and adaptability of the human spirit. The human element is important, choosing partners wisely, and having the support of family and friends and a network of advocates for the business.
