Red Pepper Books

Reading, Writing and Red Pepper Books

It may be great to curl up with a good book, but how do you do that if the one you want is rare, out of print, or simply not available in South Africa? You turn to a company that is as hot stuff at sourcing such items as its name suggests: Red Pepper Books.

Operating as both an online and an offline specialist bookshop, Red Pepper will find you any book in the world, new or second hand if a new copy is unavailable.

Phillipa Mitchell started the business in 1998, as a result of her passion for books, and focuses on personal, out-of-this-world service and quick delivery times. Her dream is to go a step further: helping authors to self-publish works, providing a print-on-demand service for rare and hard to find books and providing an audio book downloading service.

All it will take for this to happen, says Phillipa, is a sufficient financial injection to be able to purchase the equipment required. In addition, she says that the company website has enormous potential, but assistance is required in order to revamp it completely – both technically to systemise the services and with the look and feel – and to help with a rebranding, advertising and marketing exercise. Phillipa would also like to hear from people who love books and are looking for employment.
