SkyNetwork Broadcasting
A radio station in a box
Next time you walk into a store and hear an in-house radio station, the organisation delivering this service may well be SkyNetwork Broadcasting, out of Big Bay, Cape Town. Launched in 2006 by Dean Rotherham, the company provides box-based broadcasting for the in-store environment, with full control over the content.
Rotherham describes his product as being a stand-alone radio station in a box, which runs over the GSM network. It brings unique content to the environment and is 100% customisable on a site to site basis, meaning that content is focused on the specific store, even if it operates within the bounds of a larger brand.
Since SkyNetwork Broadcasting creates content for the client, it is able to provide that personal touch. This enables the store to connect more closely with their customers.
Where the company requires assistance is in networking opportunities and other ways of making potential customers more aware of the product. In addition, says Rotherham, since the most valuable part of any business is the people, assistance with finding additional personnel with the right experience would not go amiss.
SkyNetwork Broadcasting is a business that is genuinely forward thinking, with regular innovative ideas around content and production. What sets it apart, however, is the way in which it delivers the human touch.
