Titan Trade Technologies
A real Titan in the training arena
If there is one problem facing South Africa’s ICT industry, it is a lack of skills and training, so Norman Hlakudi’s Pretoria-based company, Titan Trade Technologies, provides a welcome respite in a sea of troubles.
Titan focuses on skills development and training in the information technology arena, specifically ICT technical training. In addition, the company focuses on recruiting and placement, as well as on learnership and internship management.
Norman points out that while high technical skills can always be packaged and re-packed to serve a particular need in the marketplace, the problem occurs in obtaining a specialised skill in the first place, which is where Titan comes in.
Titan’s biggest customers include government departments and municipalities, as well as a number of major corporate clients. In addition the company works closely with the various Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).
Norman states that this wide base of clients is attracted to working with Titan because of his company’s accreditation, its skilled personnel and the extensive experience they bring to the table, as well as their success in implementing projects. Titan is one of the few Microsoft Gold Partners in South Africa!
Having learned numerous important lessons since his company was launched in 2007, Norman says the most valuable thing he has discovered in this period is to always be hands on with your own business. After all, he states, no-one will have the same passion and drive as the person who is carrying all the risk.
