Ultrafine Depth Filtration

Ultrafine Depth Filtration is a company started by Roger Gemmell in Benoni back in 1996. The business focuses on the manufacturing and distribution of diesel filtration systems for all types of diesel engines.
Unlike its competitors, which achieve filtration rates of four microns and above, Ultrafine’s product provides far higher levels of protection for diesel engines, delivering filtration rates of 2.5 microns. This means it is delivering far greater protection for both the end-user and the environment.
Gemmell developed the product himself, making it a wholly South African solution that currently serves the transport, agricultural, mining, earth-moving and power generation industries.
Much stricter emission controls are due to be introduced into the country, which will place a heavy economic burden on the transport and allied industries. Ultrafine’s product is therefore not only a truly real green opportunity for industry, but it also delivers lower maintenance costs and a longer useful life for vehicles using it.
However, as an SME, the company does not have the expertise or knowledge to broaden its customer base further. Gemmell says he requires assistance in promoting the solution into the broader market. This means obtaining introductions to the decision makers in government, the mining industry and various environmental agencies.
In addition, the company requires gas analysing equipment in order to effectively prove its claim regarding emission controls.
