Building the machines that make the things that everybody wants
The world needs ‘things’, according to Marc Erasmus, owner of Uni-cam cnc Systems. These ‘things’ can be high-tech aircraft wings or propellers, or low-tech signage.  The one thing he is certain of is that there will always be a requirement for ‘things’ and hence for the machines that make these ‘things’!
Marc says that he has always loved working with machines, particularly computerised cutting equipment – generally known as cnc machines – which are capable of cutting 2D shapes and 3D forms. Reverse engineering the best of US, European and Japanese technology to create a South African cnc machine, Marc now offers devices that are around 30% cheaper than the US and European ones, and better in quality than those coming from the East.
Computer-aided manufacturing processes are where it’s at and Uni-cam can design and adapt its machines to suit virtually any client application or process – from boat building to furniture creation to sign writing. Uni-cam will also provide free operator training and free ongoing technical support.
However, since he is a ‘machine man’ at heart, Marc requires the assistance of an insightful business coach to show him where he is going wrong and more importantly, how to fix it, perhaps by implementing a new way of doing business. Additionally, he requires a marketing guru to help him find a way to promote his products more visibly, and to the correct market.
